Pooles Cavern

In the Summer Term 2000 Year 3/4 Visited Pooles Cavern in Buxton, Derbyshire. The Carvern was formed during the ice age and has many spectacular features. It is one of the largest show caves in Britain.

The children were led on a guided tour of the cave telling of the history that has been traced back to the Romans and before. The children then took part in a nature walk through the wood that lies above the cavern. The day was very memorable and enjoyed by all.
