A special dog was sold at auction recently for £3,300. This sheep dog, Cass was bought by Paul Evans and is now being used to look after his flock of 2,000 sheep in Herefordshire. "She can already out-perform older, more experienced dogs” said Paul Evans

At the auction the auctioneer said that a good sheep dog would sell for up to 2,500 but Cass was the first to be bought for over 3,000. Dog experts reckon Cass's owner has got a good deal.

"It would take a professional shepherd up to six months to get a dog up to speed so someone has been saved all that hassle," said one dog expert.

"The dog can go straight into the field and work the sheep." Said another

 Could another sheepdog be brought for more dosh? Maybe but we’ll have to wait and see.
