100 fire fighters die each year on the job! Even though technology could make fire fighters lives safer.

Researchers at a university in Berkeley in California are looking at technology to make fire fighters safer. They are trying to create a system so that fire fighters can move through the fire and smoke of a burning building safely! This then means that fires can be put out quicker. The damage of fires over a year costs $8.6bn to repair.

If this technology is created fires will be able to be put out quicker and fire fighters won’t die as often. The damage of the fire won’t cost as much!!
