The parents of a brave boy named Joe Downes aged 11 had an accident with a speedboat. Which his dad It happened when he was on holiday last month. The accident occurred in Aberystwyth.

He needed 114 stitches and a transfusion of 22 units of blood - about three times the amount in his body - as well as a skin graft on his right upper body.

Not only did Joe Downes have to loose his arm he had a punctured lung.

Here is a statement from the newspaper

"The next minute I could see the boat had knocked Joe sideways. He looked at me and we both looked down and we could just see the muscles and tendons in his arm. I shouted to get an ambulance."
