Katie, Lily, Hannah and Amelia held a bring and buy sale on the 17th of December. We were raising money for the Blue Peter Water Works appeal. We held the sale at our School in the Library. We had a lot of visitors who bought a lot of the items that were brought in by the pupils and staff in the School. We managed to raise around £45.00. We are very pleased with the amount of money that we raised.  Underneath there is some more information on what we did and what we were raising the money for:

This year, Blue Peter are raising money through Bring & Buy sales to help people in Tanzania and Uganda set up safe water supplies close to their homes and so far an amazing £11,125.70 has been raised by viewers.

How much money do they hope to raise?
The target is a whopping £500,000! Enough money to pay for pumps and equipment to help 74 villages in Uganda and Tanzania and transform the lives of 30,000 people, giving them clean safe water for the rest of their lives.

What Blue Peter want to do
Working with the charity WaterAid, they want to help people in both countries. There are three main ways we can help:

· installing diesel engines or hand pumps to pump clean water from underground

· funding hygiene education in both countries

·-improving sanitation by providing toilets.

 How can you help?
You can raise money for the appeal by having a Bring & Buy sale either at home, at your school, or maybe even a local church hall or leisure centre. Every penny you raise will go to providing access to clean water in Tanzania and Uganda.

How do you get started?
